One October day in 2012, Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, gave important instructions about the educational work of the country while having a talk with some officials.

He said: It is important to take good care of the life of teachers.

They are career revolutionaries bringing up the rising generations.

Of course, we cannot expect them to get anything from their work immediately after they give some lectures. But education is the most worthwhile work to bring up the future of the country and the revolution.

Education has played a big role in carving out the destiny of human beings. Every country and nation have carved out their destiny through the development of education. For this reason, many politicians in history attached great importance to education.

But Kim Jong Un, regarding education as the most worthwhile work to bring up the future of the country and the revolution, has given preferential treatment to educationists.

Stressing the need for Party organizations to pay due attention to the life of teachers, he asked officials to have primary concern for their living whenever they had something available to give, and to supply it first to them.

His instructions represented his ennobling idea that educationists are the revolutionaries responsible for the future of the country and that nothing should be spared for their good.
