In late October 1948, Comrade Kim Il Sung visited Printing House No. 1 of the National People’s Publishing House, which was under renovation and expansion, with the introduction of the compulsory primary education system just ahead.

Looking round various paper production processes, he corrected the shortcomings one by one.

He asked the management personnel of the factory if there were any difficulties in production. They said they were short of rotary press and casting machine if they were to increase the production of textbooks.

However, they felt remorseful as they knew well that the equipment would cost too much and it would be impossible to solve the issue as the country was under difficult situation at that time.

But, to their surprise, Kim Il Sung solved the issue on the spot.

Thanks to the loving care of Kim Il Sung who spared nothing for the rising generations, the project for expanding the capacity of producing textbooks was successfully carried out.
