Several months ago one of the students at Sariwon Primary School for Orphans received a children’s literary prize.

The laureate was one of the students taught by Ryu Kum Ju, guidance teacher of the writing club of the school.

When Ryu decided a few years ago to leave her junior middle school in Sariwon and teach at the orphans’ primary school, people were surprised at her decision.

Still, she remembered the words of Kim Jong Un that orphans should be trained as soldiers of the People’s Army, PhDs and Heroes, and she thought of the orphans’ primary school which had gone up as an excellent school in Sariwon, her home town, thanks to the WPK’s love for the rising generations.

Her intention to uphold the Party’s policy in the lead encouraged her to work at the orphans’ school.

She made efforts to improve activities of the literary club not only at the orphans’ primary school but also at far-off Hwangju Middle School for Orphans where she travelled several times a month.

Thanks to her endeavour, orphans began to distinguish themselves soon not only at her own school but also at the middle school for orphans.

Whenever she saw such talented students, Ryu felt happy to think that how pleased Kim Jong Un would be to learn that orphans were growing up as talent.

She is still devoting her enthusiasm to orphans with the laudable desire in mind.
