In accordance with Decision No. 82 of the DPRK State Commission for Conferment of Academic Degrees and Titles, the title of professor was awarded to President Park Soo Yeon and Vice President Park Byung Kyu of FIE, Canada who contributed to the development of English education at colleges in the homeland over the past ten-odd years.

The awarding ceremony took place in the People's Palace of Culture on December 10, 2018.
